What's This welcomes Natalie Star and she has brought her book with her: The Keeper What's the genre? Young adult/paranormal romance/urban fantasy. What's the setting? The mountains in the state of Virginia. What are the names of your leading characters? Billie (female MC), Tyler/Ty (male MC), Ramey (male MC), and Adrik (antagonist). What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters to named? Billie is a vain young lady in the beginning of the story, but she has a loving heart and grows into a wonderful young woman as she matures and learns more about her destiny. Tyler is not the typical student in the school they attend, for more than his appearance. He is smart and caring and really good for Billie as she transitions into her role. Ramey is aloof until he needs to be otherwise, and even then he doesn’t come around completely. He has his reasons. Adrik is evil sent from the Dark. He is also very persuasive - as good looking men can be. His name means “dark” in Russian. What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? As bookbub.com summarized it the best, I’ll use what they have: A recurring nightmare, an old necklace, a strange boy: Billie’s 16th year is anything but normal. In this edgy thriller, she must accept her destiny or face untold loss and danger. So tell us where we can buy your book. You can buy The Keeper just about anywhere eBooks are sold and through my publisher, Decadent Publishing, but there is a .99 cent sale right now at Amazon (good until 6/15). http://www.amazon.com/The-Keeper-ebook/dp/B006TKEX30 Thanks, Natalie, for sharing this with us. Readers please share What'sThis with your friends. You never know what they might like to read.... What's This... goes on an adventure. Come join the fun. What's the title? The Everafter Chronicles: Reign of the Night Creatures What's the genre? Middle grade (ages 9-12), however, adults will enjoy it, too! What's the setting? An alternate universe known as Everafter What are the names of your leading characters? James the brave, Charlotte the shy, Susan the smart, Clovensport the dog, Apollo the griffin, Dehmar the domovol and Jessica the lost girl. There's also Prophet and Viktor, but it's up to you to decide what their roles are. What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters you named? James is the character that is most like me. He is what I would consider an ideal big brother. He has an adventurous spirit. Charlotte starts out very shy and unsure of herself, but quickly learns that she has the power to control her fear. She is a mother figure to James and Susan. She enjoys reading books. Susan is the youngest character in my book, but she is perhaps the smartest. We learn toward the end of the book that she has a very big purpose. Clovensport is the family pet. A quiet, boring old dog--or is he? Apollo is the first creature the children meet in Everafter. He is mighty and wise. He saves the children's lives on more than one occasion. Dehmar is a short, hairy creature known as a domovol. At first he seems grumpy, but he quickly warms up to the lively spirit that the children share. He is very wise, and cares very much for his family. Jessica is and shall remain a mysterious character. Perhaps we'll discover her real purpose in book two? What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? It is an epic adventure that is sure to keep you guessing from beginning to end. I guarantee you that you will want to begin book two as soon as you finish the final chapter of book one. How do I know it's so good? Because I had an enormous amount of fun writing it! Ontario, Austin, Eddy, Warren, Kelly-Ann, and Maggie What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters to named? Ontario is in her senior year of high school, she loves art, and she has trouble trusting others because of events in her past. Austin is Ontario’s co-worker at the diner. He is an art major at the local community college and loves to dance. Eddy is Ontario’s older brother. He is a mechanic and very responsible. Warren is one of Ontario’s best friends. He loves cars and is always positive. Kelly-Ann is Ontario’s best friend. She is kind of ditsy, but she’s also a good friend. Maggie is the owner of the diner where much of the story happens. She is an older woman who’s only wish is to bring happiness to everyone around her. What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? This story is told from Ontario’s point of view after she is abandoned by her mother. In an effort to feel like less of a burden on her brother Ontario takes a job at the local 50s diner. New York City and the surrounding area What are the names of your leading character(s)? Tommy. (Although, his twin brother is present throughout the story, he's not really a lead.) What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters named? This was harder than I thought. Tommy is a Taurus (but is his identical twin, Danny is an Aries.) Tommy would never admit it to Danny, but the taste of beer grew on him. The one regret Tommy has is he couldn't be part of the family pictures, Danny's wife, Rissa took them during the day.. (Lisa says.."Humm, need to read the book to find out why.") What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? The only thing that matters is survival. Tommy, a new vampire, struggles to survive in a human world that hates him. The only human he trusts is his twin brother who helps him remember his past and what it means to be human. What's the title? The title of the book is: "Charisma the young witch." What's the setting? The story plays in a little medieaval like village at first, but quickly moves to our time. Yes, there is magic involved, which is not surprising with a young witch. It's a book for children of all ages, from around 8 years old and up. Charisma is the youngest daughter of a witch and a wizard. She likes to go play with her non-magical friends Quinsee and Barnaby. What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters to named? Charisma is a young witch, always helpful but at times a bit too quick with her magic. Quinsee is Charisma's best friend, she trusts Charisma entirely and she is not easily scared. Barnaby, Quinsee's younger brother, is more reserved towards Charisma and her magic, but he changes as the book progresses. What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? The book starts in the little village where Charisma lives. The story moves to an entirely different place because of some unintended magic that happens and goes wrong, and from where it is up to Charisma to bring everyone back home again. I hope that Charisma (who is the little sister of my other character, Hilda the Wicked Witch) will appeal to many people, especially children. I think reading is an important skill that seems to lose terrain lately. It's good to know that e-readers and tablets are coming up so much and gain where paper books seem to lose. I am a perpetually eighteen years old YA author who lives in the wild, wet, Welsh borderlands surrounded by ruined medieval castles and Celtic mythology where I look for UFO’s amongst the stars and imagine all the people I meet have dark secrets. When I’m not inventing radical problems for my unsuspecting heroes and plotting their escape, I am a serial collector of random badly paying jobs and have never found a use for my BSc in Psychology whatsoever. I love sci-fi action adventures, playing the piano, believe Romeo and Juliet should have talked more and consider sarcasm to be the highest form of wit. Thanks, Suzanna for sharing your book, Shockwave with my readers. Check this book out -- sounds like enough action that any age would enjoy it. Lisa |
